Dr. Donna Ornitz M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board certified pediatric ophthalmologist. She graduated from Stanford University in Biology, with distinction, and received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She received her pediatric ophthalmology fellowship training at the renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Before moving back to California, Dr. Ornitz practiced in Colorado for almost 7 years. She has been at Peninsula Eye Physicians for over 15 years. She has extensive experience in evaluating and treating pediatric eye diseases from newborns through the teen and young adult years. Dr. Ornitz is an active member of The American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) and The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP)
Dr. Ornitz has a special interest in children with strabismus ( eye misalignment) and amblyopia ("lazy eye"), blocked tear ducts, and the eye health of children with special needs or genetic syndromes. She is committed to providing the highest quality and personalized eye care, in a child friendly environment, to all her patients.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Ornitz enjoys hiking, swimming, cycling, musical theater and playing the flute. Her 2 children are now enjoying college life.
