Dr. Jil Patel, OD, FAAO obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. During her time in optometry school, she was recognized for her academic excellence and leadership as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and recipient of the Eschenbach Low Vision Student Award.

Dr. Patel's passion for patient care led her to complete a residency in Pediatrics/Vision Therapy in San Antonio, Texas. During her residency, she gained extensive experience diagnosing and treating conditions such as amblyopia, strabismus, corneal diseases, and managing myopia control for young patients.
Her commitment to excellence and research led her to achieve the designation of Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a recognition of her commitment to advancing knowledge and skill in the field.

Beyond pediatrics, Dr. Patel brings a wealth of experience from training at renowned institutions, including Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Veterans Affairs hospitals in Miami and Portland, and the West Oakland Community Clinic. She has managed glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and other ocular diseases, offering tailored care for both pediatric and adult patients.

As a therapeutic and glaucoma-certified optometrist, Dr. Patel takes pride in her patient-centered approach. She is passionate about educating her patients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their eye health.
